Our program

Outdoor soccer is affordable, fun, and a great way for your child to meet other children in the Duggan community. Duggan Community League (DCL) is a member of the Southwest Zone of the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association, and offers a community soccer program for girls and boys born between 2002 & 2017 for the 2021 outdoor season.

The outdoor soccer season is tentatively set to begin the first week of May and end in late June, with the possibility of continuing into July. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, season details are still to be determined and will depend on directions provided by Alberta Health and the Alberta Soccer Association. However, the likely options include:

  1. Training only – players develop their skills with their teammates through individual drills, while maintaining physical distance.
  2. Games within a small cohort – Teams may be permitted to play small-sided games within their team, or with another team within a small cohort.
  3. Regular season play – If COVID-19 restrictions are removed, players from U7-U19 may have two games each week and may also have one practice.

Fees

Please note: For the 2021 outdoor season, our registration fees assume that U7-U19 teams will be allowed to train and play some scrimmage games within a small cohort (option 2 above).

If teams are able to move to regular season play (approx. 15 scheduled league games), then parents will be responsible for an additional fee payment as indicated below. If only training is allowed (i.e. no cohort games or regular season play), a refund will be issued as indicated.

Transfers

Please note that if you live in a community other than Duggan, you must register in the community where you live and then request a transfer to Duggan, if that is where you want your child to play.  If you live in Duggan and want your child to play in another community, you must first register in Duggan and request a transfer to that community.

Volunteer Commitment

Our volunteers are key to the success of the Duggan Soccer program! Duggan Soccer is always looking for parents who are interested in volunteering as a coach or assistant coach for their child’s team. We offer access to training and coaching resources from EMSA and the Alberta Soccer Association to help ensure you have the tools you will need for a fun, successful season.

Another parent volunteer option is the Duggan Mother’s Day Soccer Tournament (May 7-9, 2021, to be confirmed).  Positions for the tournament include the Planning Committee, Field Marshal, Concession, Headquarters, etc.  Other volunteer options include Duggan Community League casino/bingo nights, or becoming a Neighbourhood Block Connector.

Refund Policy

The refund policy for our community is found on the Refund Page.
