Duggan is proud to welcome our newly hired Rink Attendant, Nicholas Allan. Nicholas will be operating the Skate shack and Snack bar, adjacent to our two skating rinks on Fridays from 5:00 – 9:00 PM; Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 – 4:00 PM.
Friday nights are Firepit Fridays (unless the weather calls for -20 or colder) and FREE hot chocolate for everybody. Let all your neighbours know and see you on the ice soon!
Hi Duggan & Rideau Park! We’d like to inform you that we will be postponing the Firepit Fridays until January 14, given the drop in temperatures over the next few weeks! We know that our fellow neighbors had an excellent time this past Friday, however, when the temperatures drop below -20 along with the wind chill, it’s not enjoyable. Please stay tuned for other events that we are planning, when it warms up, and visit the rinks in the meantime! Stay warm Duggan & Rideau Park

Hello Duggan & Rideau Park! Please be advised that Zumba will be offered at the Duggan Community Hall this coming January 2022. If you are interested in the activity, please review the poster below for details on how to register. Supporting and keeping activities local!
We were recently affected – some more directly than others – by a tragic and random event in our neighbourhood. We sympathize with the community. We ask that everyone provide support and space to those who were involved or affected.
What happened does not reflect our community and neighbourhood. Duggan and Rideau Park have been known for active membership, inclusivity, diversity and resilience. What defines us and the broader community in Edmonton is bigger than these unforeseen circumstances.
Now that we’ve endured this difficult experience, let’s take the opportunity to strengthen our connections. We’ve already progressed through the challenges of the pandemic by cleaning up our neighbourhood in the spring, hosting soccer programs and gathering at our ice rinks. Let’s take this time as a moment to reflect on how we can move forward and re-engage with one another.
This year the Edmonton Food Bank has been relied upon by many struggling Edmontonians. Food Bank demand hit a 40-year high in 2021, with more than 28,000 people a month relying on the organization’s services at one point. Between January and October, they purchased more than $1.2 million of essential food for hampers—up from $780,000 for the same period last year—and there’s no sign things are letting up. On an average day, they answer 361 phone calls—though it’s been as high as 644 in a single day in 2021.
The Southwest Area Council (SWAC) has partnered with AMA to raise non-persishable food donations. SWAC is encouraging a little friendly competition with neighbouring communities in Southwest Edmonton. The community that raises the most food, will be awarded a $100 Gift Card to Sobeys. See below for last year’s results.
On Sunday, Dec. 12, communities across Alberta will participate in AMA’s #StackToSackHunger Drive-Thru Food Drives. We’ve faced many challenges as a community this year, but one thing we know for sure is that Duggan & Rideau Park show up for each other. And the higher we stack those donation boxes, the better we can support our neighbours in need.
Duggan Community League will have a box set up in the main entrance of the Community Hall (Centre) 3728 106 Street NW. Please drop off your non perishable donations on the following days:
-Monday December 6 9am-6pm
-Tuesday December 7 5:30-7:30pm
-Wednesday December 8 1:30-9pm
-Thursday December 9 10am-3pm
-Friday December 10 6:30-8:30pm
-Saturday December 11 5:00-9:00pm
-Sunday December 12 9:00am-5:00pm
-Monday December 13 9am-3pm
-Tuesday December 14 5:30-7:30pm (Last Day)
Thanks for being great neighbours, and lets do our best to beat last year’s results! If you are unable to drop off donations on any of the posted days, you are more than welcome making a cash donation.
